As it happens: final dispatch

So the journey ends, with the ending of 2011.

And a new journey begins, with the beginning of 2012.

The purpose of this past few post was to share with you the experience and learning points that I come across throughout my 9 days when I was in Taiwan for my Trad Climbing Course. I really do hope that it did manage to serve that very purpose. If you realised, I rarely shared anything about the actual course itself. Not because its unimportant, but I believe that I am doing this “rockclimbing-adventure-traveling” stuff to achieve a greater purpose.

“For the fun of it” could be just the first step to understanding that greater purpose.

There were many people, fellow strangers, lone traveler, budding climbers, new found friends that I met along the way. And meeting and having a short chat with these people….. is like opening a treasure trove of different experiences.

I met a Taiwanese by the name Frank at Taoyuan International Airport over a bowl of instant noodles, and he said he envied Singaporeans ever since he was young because we received English education at a young age.

I met a Muslim Taiwanese from Burma name Yaakob Mah at Kunming Islamic Restaurant when I had dinner at his place on my last day, and it reminded me that I should be grateful to be living in Singapore where there is alot of Muslims and finding food is easier then in Taiwan.

I met a wise Chinese man, who I didn’t get his name, at LCCT KL airport whose words rang through my ear: “Keep on doing what you love to do. When you do what you love, eventually love will find its way to you”

The other purpose of this past few post was also to figure out “why I do what I do”. To be really really honest…. Even now, I don’t have a reason for it. And I come to realised that, I don’t have a reason for it at all. And may never ever will. Other then the fact that I love doing it. I love heights as much as I am afraid of it. I love the places that it had brought me to. I love the views that I get to see and it helped to put into perspective this crazy world we all live in. It simplifies life. It elevates life. It excites life. It cures boredom. It removes monotony. It humbles me… That much, I definitely know.

So true, keep doing what you love, you will never go wrong :)

    • Yup2… I learned it the hard way and got influenced by others and end up not being myself. So its a good way to start the new year by being myself all over again ^_^
